Zafar Masud
Zafar Masud is a development‑focused banker, public‑sector reformer, and author with nearly 30 years of leadership experience across development finance, energy, governance, and management. He has held senior roles in major international banks, including American Express, Citigroup, Dubai Islamic Bank, and Barclays (as Regional Managing Director, Southern Africa). He served on the State Bank of Pakistan’s Board and its Monetary Policy Committee, later becoming Director General, National Savings, where he led key digital‑transformation initiatives and launched major welfare‑oriented savings products. He was the Founding CEO (Interim) of InfraZamin Pakistan, helping establish Pakistan’s first credit‑enhancement company for social‑infrastructure financing. Since 2020, he has been President & CEO of The Bank of Punjab, driving transformative growth in governance, digital capability, and financial inclusion. He also serves as Non‑Executive Chairman of OGDCL and holds leadership roles across prominent boards and national committees. Masud has designed major national financial‑inclusion programs and received multiple international honors, including Hungary’s highest civil award and France’s Prix d’Excellence. He is the author of Seat 1C and Out of the Box and is widely recognized for his thought leadership on economic reform and public‑sector transformation.
