Yasmeen Sultana Farooqui
Prof. Dr. Yasmeen Sultana Farooqui is a distinguished academician, media scholar, and literary intellectual. She is currently serving as Dean, Faculty of Media and Design at ILMA University, and has previously held senior academic leadership positions at Jinnah University for Women and Sindh Madressatul Islam University. She holds dual master’s degrees in business administration and mass communication, along with a PhD, reflecting her multidisciplinary academic strength. A significant phase of her career includes ten years of teaching and research at the Department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi, where she contributed to the advancement of media education and a research‑oriented academic culture. She is the Editor‑in‑Chief of the HEC‑recognized Y Category Journal of Media and Communication, Associate Editor of the HEC‑recognized journal Urdu, and Editor of Qaumi Zaban, published by Anjuman Taraqqi‑e‑Urdu Pakistan. She has authored four books, published more than 35 research papers, and contributes regularly to national newspapers. Her notable book, FM Radio: A Tool of Community Awareness – A Case Study of Quetta, published by the Ministry of Culture, Government of Balochistan, highlights the pivotal role of community media in social development.
