Wendy Marijnissen

Wendy Marijnissen is a documentary photographer, curator and author from Antwerp, Belgium..
In 2009, she traveled to Pakistan, focusing her camera on motherhood and daily life. She has documented women’s lives in Pakistan. She has especially focused on the hardships of pregnancy and childbirth.
In 2015, Ms Marijnissen returned to Pakistan twice to continue working and writing on what now is her first book Always the guest. A part of the proceeds from this book will go to the Koohi Goth Women’s hospital in Karachi.
Ms Marijnissen founded the non-profit organization Bending The Frame and currently is the artist in residence at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in Karachi.
