Syed Kaleem Imam
Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, the ‘epithet philosopher cop,’ is a distinguished public servant recognized for his contributions in law enforcement, academia, and organizational development. With a PhD in Politics and International Relations, an LLM in Human Rights Law, and a master’s in philosophy, he has held key positions such as Inspector General of Police in Punjab, Islamabad, Motorways, Sindh, and later as Federal Secretary. Internationally, he has served in UN Peacekeeping missions in Mozambique, Liberia, and as Police Commissioner in Sudan. He is a recipient of three UN peace medals, the Quaid-i-Azam Police Medal, the President’s Police Medal, and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. Imam actively contributes to academic discourse and engages in public forums, training institutes, and media outlets. His works, including ‘Kotwalnama-Zawaal Ka Urooj’ and ‘In Pursuit of an Ethical State: Reflections of a Police Chief,’ are widely acclaimed. Presently, he serves as a visiting faculty at universities and as a consultant with UNDP.
