Shireen Haroun

Shireen Haroun is an English language poet, whose work is imbued with sharp observations of nature and a sensibility tending towards the dark side. Her poems have appeared in the journals of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, the Canadian magazine, ‘Vellum’, and other international publications in the UK and US. Shireen Haroun is the only daughter of the late Maki Kureishi, who was herself one of Pakistan’s finest poets in English. She teaches English Literature to both O and A level students. She holds a law degree from the University of Warwick, England. She lives in Karachi with her husband of Malaysian origin,  Jeeva Haroun, who is also a lawyer and occasional poet.
