Sheema Kermani is the founder of Tehrik-e-Niswan—a Cultural Action Group which uses the medium of theatre and performing arts to bring awareness on rights issues. She is a classical dancer, choreographer, teacher, theatre practitioner, and peace and women’s rights activist. She is Pakistan’s leading performance artist. Sheema teaches dance and drama and also acts for the stage and television. She combines this with activism, which includes Mobile Theatre in low-income areas. Sheema Kermani teaches at Szabist University, Karachi; National College of Arts, Lahore; and Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi.
