Shazia Hasan

A Karachi-based journalist who has won various awards—for her stories and features—including the CEJ-IBA’s International Committee of the Red Cross inaugural award for humanitarian reporting, and five Agahi awards. Shazia Hasan’s book of short stories has also earned her the National Book Foundation Award. She is a senior staff reporter with Dawn newspaper, who also handles Dawn’s literary section Books & Authors. Concurrently, she is a visiting faculty at the Institute of Business Management where she teaches several courses including creative writing to students of Media Studies. She is also a former vice president of the Karachi Press Club (2021).
