Shahid M. Amin

A veteran Pakistani diplomat, Shahid M. Amin spent 39 years in the Pakistan Foreign Service (1958–1997). He was Deputy Agent of Pakistan in the Rann of Kutch Arbitration Tribunal in Geneva. Since retirement from Foreign Service, Shahid Amin has written extensively for newspapers, is a well-known analyst on national television on foreign policy and national affairs. Since 1999, he has been Visiting Professor for International Relations and Pakistan Studies at the College of Business Management, Karachi. He is the recipient of Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam for his work in the Rann of Kutch case. He is the author of seven books on national affairs and foreign policy. The 3rd edition of his book Pakistan’s Foreign Policy—A Reappraisal, first published by OUP in 2000, has recently been published.
