Shafqat Ali Shah
Shafqat Ali Shah Jamote is an agriculturalist by profession. As the CEO and MD of Matiari Sugar Mills and Matol Pvt. Ltd., he has been a leader in agriculture-based industrial production in lower Sindh. Dr Jamote has served as Federal Minister for Agriculture (1999–2000); as Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Education, Sports, and Culture (1985–1986) and for Industries and Agriculture (1986–1988). He has been a regular faculty member at the University of Sindh and visiting assistant professor at the Woodrow Wilson Department of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia. Currently, he is engaged in building Matiari Hospital, a health service facility that will serve the people of his hometown and the surrounding areas in rural Sindh.
