Qamar Ahmed
Qamar Ahmed is the former captain of Hyderabad in first-class cricket. He played for Sindh, South Zone, and in league cricket in England. A graduate in English Literature, he has covered 453 Tests, 743 ODIs, 9 ICC World Cups, 3 Women’s World Cup finals, and 1 Women’s T20 World Cup final. He was a TVNZ commentator during the 1992 World Cup. He has reported on international cricket for the BBC, The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Dawn, Reuters, AFP, and numerous other outlets. He has also worked as a commentator for BBC, TVNZ, ESPN, ABC, SABC, and PTV. Qamar Ahmed contributed to the OUP Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Cricket and World Cricket. His autobiography, Far More Than a Game, has been published in both Pakistan and England. He is the author of 14 books on cricket and is a Life Member of the Cricket Writers’ Club of England and the Karachi Press Club.
