Nida Wahid
Dr. Nida Wahid Bashir is a consultant general surgeon and part time faculty at Center of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC), SIUT. She is the daughter of renowned journalist Wahid Bashir and teacher and social activist Hamza Wahid. She is a member of the executive committee of the National Council of Academics (Irtiqa Institute of Social Sciences) and a founding member of Karachi Bioethics Group.
She has contributed to lay press on topics of ethical concerns in healthcare. She has co-authored two publications of Karachi Bioethics Group (KBG): Ethical Guidelines on Physician Pharmaceutical Interaction and Understanding Medical Error and chapters in Bioethics in Pakistan: Local Context, Local Cases (Lightstone Publishers) and Surgical Education and Training in Pakistan: Creating a model (Cambridge Scholars Publishing). She has also been involved in organizing Ethics and Culture Hour programs at CBEC.
