
Nasira Zuberi
Nasira Zuberi is a senior journalist and media professional with over twenty-five years of experience in both print and electronic journalism. She has worked with prestigious organizations such as Business Recorder, Aaj News, Geo News, and NewsOne. Notably, she is the only female journalist to have successfully launched two news channels (Aaj News and NewsOne). She has held prominent positions including Controller News at Aaj TV, Director News and CEO of NewsOne, and Editor Business at Geo News. She is also the first female journalist to serve as CEO of a mainstream news channel.
Nasira is the author of four poetry collections: Shagoon, Kaanch ka Charaagh, Teresa Qadam, and Be Mausmi Khawahshain. She is currently finalizing two prose books. Additionally, she is a well-known columnist for various online magazines, including Independent Urdu and HumSub. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to visit different countries and attend prominent conferences, including the Bonn Media Conference multiple times. Recently, Alhamd Islamic University in Islamabad published an M.Phil paper on her poetry.
Nasira Zuberi’s poetry explores various aspects of life, including sorrow, happiness, anger, excitement, and other human emotions. Her primary poetic focus is on love, which she considers the most essential element in a human being’s life. Her poems celebrate love for parents, friends, children, other people, and even animals. She also expresses her admiration for the beauty of nature, including flowers, colors, butterflies, fragrances, and raindrops.
As a journalist, she addresses social differences and political developments on both national and global levels. She is acutely aware of the interconnectedness of the modern world, and some of her poems and verses reflect international issues such as war, monetary dependence, border conflicts, and other contentious topics between states.
