Naazir Mahmood

Dr Naazir Mahmood is a columnist, educator, and film critic with a special interest in history, international relations, and literature. He has translated 12 books from English to Urdu on diverse subjects. His collection of essays, ‘Politics, Pictures, Personalities’ (Badalti Dunya Publications, 2018), and ‘Pen and Politic: Resistance in Pakistan’ (Vanguard Books, 2020), have attracted wide attention. His latest books, ‘Cinema Cinema’ in English and ‘Cinema Kahani’ in Urdu, have been published by Aaj Publications and Mashaal Books, respectively. He is a regular contributor to major English and Urdu newspapers, including Dawn, The News, and Jang, and appears on TV as an analyst.
