Muneeza Shamsie
Muneeza Shamsie is the author of Hybrid Tapestries: The Development of Pakistani Literature in English and editor of four anthologies of Pakistani English writing, including the forthcoming In the New Century: An Anthology of Pakistani Literature in English. She received the Gold IPPY and Bronze Foreword Awards in the US for her third anthology And the World Changed: Contemporary Stories by Pakistani Women. She is an Area Editor for the online Literary Encyclopedia, Bibliographic Representative (Pakistan) for The Journal of Commonwealth Literature, is a member the Advisory Boards of The Journal of Postcolonial Writing, the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature, and the International Centre of Pakistani Writing in English, Kinnaird College. She has served on the jury of several literary prizes, including the KLF-Getz Pharma prize and was regional chair (Eurasia) of the Commonwealth Writers Prize 2009-2011. She lives in Karachi, writes for the Pakistani press and has contributed memoir essays to several anthologies.
