
Mohammad Ahmed Shah
Mohammad Ahmed Shah is a prominent cultural figure in Pakistan, currently serving as the President of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. He has held this position for over 11 years. Shah is known for his dynamic leadership and has significantly contributed to the cultural renaissance in Pakistan.
Under his leadership, the Arts Council has seen a remarkable increase in activities, including theatre, music, youth, and dance festivals, as well as literary events. Shah has also fostered international collaborations with countries like China, Germany, the US, Portugal, and Japan.
In addition to his role at the Arts Council, Shah is the Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Minority Affairs, and Social Protection in Sindh. His work has earned him recognition and respect across various cultural and social sectors.
Shah has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian awards, recognizing his exceptional service in the field of arts and culture. He has also received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his outstanding contributions. In December 2024, he was awarded Lifetime Membership of the Karachi Press Club in recognition of his exceptional contributions to arts and culture. These awards highlight his dedication and impact on promoting cultural activities in Pakistan.
