Mian Raza Rabbani

Mian Raza Rabbani is a former Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan and an eminent jurist. He has been elected a Senator from Sindh six times since 1993. A long-standing member of the Pakistan Peoples Party, he was a close aide to former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and was appointed the Party’s deputy secretary general in 1997 and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate in 2005. Senator Rabbani was awarded the highest civil award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz, for his parliamentary services. He is the author of A Biography of Pakistani Federalism and Invisible People which received the best English prose Pitras Bukhari Award 2017, from the Pakistan Academy of Letters.
