Khalid Anam

Khalid Anam

Beginning his acting foray with the Grips theatre in 1984, Khalid Anam has remained with the group since. Khalid appeared for the first time on television in 1986 as a singer. Since then, Khalid has certainly come a long way, being the only artist to be given an ‘A’ category as an actor, singer, lyricist, and compere by PTV. A man of many talents, Khalid also served as the National Coordinator for The Duke of Edinburgh Trust and has dedicated his life to promoting literature and productions for children—be it on television, writing books for Oxford University Press, adapting more than 100 episodes of the popular TV series Sesame Street for children into Urdu, or creating audio content. Currently, Khalid is heading the Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies at Greenwich University Karachi and Mauritius, following his passion for teaching the performing arts to his students. What makes Khalid an integral part of Grips are his magical compositions and music and his versatility as an actor. In the adult plays, Khalid’s ability to don different characters with such realism makes him a joy to watch.
