
Jaseem Siddiqui
Dr. Jaseem Siddiqui graduated from Sindh Medical College, Karachi, in 1979. After graduation, he served as a ranking Captain in the Army Medical Corps. Following his stint in the army, he was seconded to the Pakistan Navy, where he served in the Pakistan Naval Hospital and onboard ships. Thereafter, he left the armed forces and joined the Civil Aviation Authority.
He received training in Aviation Medicine in Pakistan, Sweden, and the USA. In 1987, he went to Ireland and pursued higher qualifications at the National University of Ireland’s postgraduate medical school, shortly after which he obtained a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine and Preventive Cardiology.
In 1991, he was selected for a four-year residency training program in West Ireland to acquire his postgraduate training in Psychiatry. He completed his training successfully and was awarded the requisite qualifications by the conjoint board of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland). After finishing his training, he was hired by Guy’s Hospital, London, to work at Military Hospital Jeddah, which was under its management. He returned to Ireland and received further training in Addiction Medicine and Family Medicine. After completing the training, he worked with one of the most reputable family practice clinics in Dublin. At the same time, he also worked with a clinic treating homeless drug addicts.
