I. A. Rehman
I. A. Rehman is a distinguished Lahore-based journalist and human rights activist. He has been associated with journalism for over 65 years. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Pakistan Times (1988–90). During the East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) crisis, he worked as the managing editor of daily Azad (Urdu). He spent the Ziaul Haq period (1978–88) as the executive editor of weekly Viewpoint. Besides hundreds of articles and papers contributed to national and foreign publications, he has three books to his credit: Jinnah as a Parliamentarian (co-editor), Arts and Crafts of Pakistan, and Pakistan under Siege, a collection of his own columns. I.A. Rehman worked as Director of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) for two decades and as its Secretary General till 31 December 2016.
