
Framji Minwalla
Dr Framji Minwalla is a distinguished academic with a career spanning over three decades. He has held prominent positions such as Program Director of Communication & Design at Habib University, Chair of the Department of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, and Head of the Department of Media Sciences at SZABIST-Karachi. In these roles, he implemented transdisciplinary curricula and developed graduate programs in Film & Television Production and Media Studies.
Before returning to Pakistan, Dr Minwalla taught at several prestigious institutions in the United States, including Yale, Vassar, Dartmouth, George Washington University, New York University, and Fordham. His research interests encompass Dramatic Literature and History, Visual and Cultural Studies, Theatre and Politics, Television and Film, and various forms of theory.
Dr Minwalla holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor, and both an M.F.A. and D.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama. He has also served on the Pakistani Academy Selection Committee for the Oscars.
