A well-known social activist, television commentator, and scholar in the field of human rights, culture, and democracy. Author of four well regarded books: Taboo! The Hidden Culture of a Red Light Area; Working with Sharks: Countering Sexual Harassment in our Lives; Forgotten Faces: Daring Women of Pakistan’s Folk Theatre; and Folk Heritage of Pakistan. She was Country Director, Action Aid Pakistan; Director, AASHA (Alliance against Sexual Harassment); and Executive Director, National Institute for Folk Culture and Heritage.
