
Farid Panjwani
Professor Farid Panjwani, the Dean of Aga Khan University’s Institute for Education Development (AKU-IED), has a DPhil in Education from the University of Oxford and a Master’s in Education and International Development from University of London. Before joining the AKU, Professor Panjwani was at University College London where he was the Founding Director of the Centre for the Study of Education in Muslim Contexts. From 2016 to 2018, he was a Commissioner on the UK’s National Commission on Religion and Education. Professor Panjwani’s research and teaching areas include philosophy of education, citizenship education, religion and education and critical development studies.
