Dr. Shama Afroz

Dr. Shama Afroz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at the University of Karachi. She holds a PhD in Modern Urdu Poetry, along with master’s degrees in Urdu and Linguistics, and a diploma in Persian. Dr. Afroz is a focal person for the HEC, a member of the Board of Studies, and the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. She has authored several works, including “Intellectual and Critical Perspective of Urdu Literature” (2021) and “Motivations of Modern Urdu Poetry” (2019). She also serves as Co-Secretary of Bazm-e-Yousufi.
