
Dr. Salman Sarwat
Dr. Salman Sarwat is a promising name from the younger generation of Urdu poets who has attracted attention with his unorthodox work. He entered the literary scene in 2009 and has since been very active in the literary circles of Karachi. Salman has developed a distinctive style in Urdu free verse poetry, reflecting urban sensitivities, existential paradoxes, and contemporary consciousness in his poems. He also writes criticism, literary essays, articles, and short stories; his work has been published in various renowned literary periodicals such as Mukalma, Dunyazaad, and Adbiyaat. He has read from his work at various literary events, including the Karachi Literature Festival, Urdu Conference ACP Karachi, Sakinan-e-Shehr-e-Quaid Mushaira, and Tahbib Festival in Dubai. His first poetry collection, titled ‘میں استعاروں میں جی رہا ہوں’, was published in 2020. His second poetry collection, titled ‘خواب رنگ’, is currently in printing.
