
Dr Hamid Ateeq Sarwar
Dr Hamid Ateeq Sarwar is a graduate of King Edward Medical College, and like many other doctors, he entered government service after passing a competitive exam, and he is still entangled in the challenges of this career. After joining the job, he completed an MS in Economics and an MBA from LUMS and also obtained a Master’s degree in White Collar Crime Laws and Investigations from Australia.
For about eight years, he taught Economics and Decision-Making at the Civil Services Academy and has been teaching Tax Laws and Auditing at the Tax Academy intermittently for nearly 26 years.
In the field of poetry, he experiments with humor, serious poetry, and translations. His humorous poetry book, “AtharveeN Ka Chand”, was published in 2020. The second book of humor is in your hands. Similarly, his book of serious poetry and poetic translations, “Saz-e-Kun aur Sawt-e-Qayamat ke Darmiyan”, is in the final stages of printing.
Due to his job and work commitments, he participates in fewer mushairas (poetry gatherings). He has served as the Chief Commissioner of Rawalpindi, a member of the FBR Policy Board, and an Additional Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Industries and Production. He has been actively involved in shaping key national policies, and in recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan.
