
Ayesha Tariq
Ayesha Tariq is a multidisciplinary artist with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. She excels in graphic design, improvised theatre, illustration, mindfulness, stand-up comedy, and musical improv. As a Penguin-published author and illustrator of the graphic novel Sarah: The Suppressed Anger of the Pakistani Obedient Daughter, she uses diverse disciplines and mediums to engage with herself and with people of various backgrounds as a teacher, collaborator, and student. Inspired by improvised theatre, Ayesha brings its rawness, playfulness, and abundance into her art practice.
Her illustration portfolio includes the project Ladies Only Apartments, a series of drawings done during her residency, Kintsugi Realms conducted by UAF A&P, the Urdu children’s magazine Uran Tashtari, the posthumous art book Rebel Angel celebrating the works of Asim Butt, and Laddu is Born (Laddu Paida Huwa), an early development book inspired by the works of Dick Bruna, creator of Miffy, published by Oxford University Press. She is also one of the contributing artists to Dreamland Deutschland.
Her ability to tell impactful stories has garnered both regional and international acclaim.
