Attiya Dawood

A celebrated Sindhi poet, writer, and activist. Through her writings, Attiya Dawood highlights the oppression of women in the Pakistani society in the name of tradition. Her poems have been translated into English and Urdu; and in German by Annemarie Schimmel. She has published several books, the latest being Sindhi Adab: Aik Mukhtasar Tareekh (2019). She is a recipient of the Sindh Adeeb Award from Akhil Bharat Sindhi Boli Ain Sahit Sabha, India.
