Asad Umar
Asad Umar is a member of the National Assembly. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2012, becoming its central senior vice president. He became Federal Finance Minister after PTI’s electoral success in the 2018 elections. He resigned from the position in April 2019. Currently, he is Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms, and Special Initiatives. Prior to entering politics, Umar pursued a noteworthy career in the corporate sector. He is the former CEO of Engro Polymer & Chemicals and President and CEO of Engro Corporation (2004). He was awarded Sitara-e- Imtiaz in 2010 for his public service.
