Anwer Sen Roy

Writer and journalist, Anwer Sen Roy is the author of two novels: ‘Cheekh’ and ‘Zillatoun ke Aseer’. He has worked with several major Urdu print media groups and has launched four Urdu dailies from Karachi as a pioneer editor. After retiring from the BBC World Service, London, he fully focuses on his literary work. His book, ‘New York ke Liye Ek Qabar aur Doosri Nazmain’ (2016), is a translation of poems by Adonis, the Syrian-born Lebanese poet and literary critic; and ‘Jughrafey kay Ma’toob’ is a translation of selected poems by Mahmoud Darwish. He has translated ‘Tomb of Sand’ by Geetanjali Shree winner of Booker International 2022, published the same year and five collections of poetry as collected works: ‘Kuchh Mohabat, Kuchh Baybasi’ in 2023.
