Naina Adil

Naina Adil was born on 26 December in Karachi. A novelist, short story writer, essayist, and children’s author, she is also deeply engaged in fashion design, cooking, dance, and digital art. She has a keen interest in Urdu, Persian, English, and various Western literary traditions, and her ongoing scholarly and creative work centres on the Persian master poet Hafez Shirazi. After completing her Master’s in Urdu, she earned an MA in English with First Division from the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology. Naina’s literary journey began with her debut poetry collection Shabd, published in Delhi in 2018 and later issued in a Lahore edition in 2021. She went on to publish her first novel, Muqaddas Gunah, in 2023. Her second novel, Kokh, is currently in press, along with her forthcoming second poetry collection Gulbaang, both of which continue to develop her distinctive voice and thematic concerns.
