Nasira Zuberi

Nasira Zuberi is the author of four poetry collections: Shagoon, Kaanch ka Charaagh, Teesra Qadam, and Be‑Mausami Khwahishein. She is also a well‑known columnist, contributing regularly to several online platforms including Independent Urdu and HumSub. She has participated in literary conferences across Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur, and has represented Pakistan internationally at events such as the Houston Literature Festival and the Bonn Media Conference, which she attended multiple times. Recently, Alhamd Islamic University in Islamabad published an MPhil thesis on her poetry. A senior journalist and media professional, she has over twenty‑five years of experience in print and electronic media. She has worked with leading organisations such as Daily Business Recorder, Aaj News, Geo News, and NewsOne. She is the only female journalist credited with the successful launch of two news channels—Aaj News and NewsOne. She has served as Controller News at Aaj TV, Director News and CEO at NewsOne, and Editor Business at Geo News, becoming the first woman to hold the position of DN/CEO at a mainstream news channel. Born and raised in Lahore, she holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of the Punjab.
