Aliya Iqbal-Naqvi

Aliya Iqbal-Naqvi teaches history in the Department of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, where she also oversees the undergraduate thesis research program. She previously headed the Liberal Arts program at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. Aliya holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her research interests include South Asian history and Islamic studies, and her professional work focuses on developing locally contextualized humanities curricula for Pakistan. She also serves on the boards of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, Greenstar Social Marketing Pakistan, the Education Trust Nasra Schools, and the Karachi Conference Foundation.
